Julia Meschter was born and educated in Norfolk, England.

She attended University of West of England (UWE) to study in their Fashion and Textile program, focusing on apparel design and textile construction. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in 1991.

She was employed immediately following in London as an apparel designer for the Pentland Group, designing for Pony, Ellesse, Speedo and Kickers. Most of her focus was with Pony, producing the football kits for 10 Premier League and First Division Football Clubs. These collections received national coverage and she was responsible for many of the related media launches and fashion shows.

In 1996 she was recruited by Nike Inc. to work in the Netherlands for the European Team Sports division. After nearly 2 years, Nike repositioned her at WHQ in the United States to gain a global understanding of the team sport business. Initially working on NCAA Basketball and then Soccer, she then moved to design for the Men's Branded category, before leaving on maternity leave in November 2000.

For the next 8 years Julia continued to freelance with Nike and other independent businesses, most notably Nike Tennis, the Team Sport and Licensed division and Nike Young Athletes.

Julia was re-hired by Nike in February of 2010 to work within the Men's Athletic Training group, focusing on NCAA and NFL football product, and responsible for modernizing the players and the coaches product on and off the field.

In May of 2011 Julia was promoted to Global Apparel Design Director for Basketball where she led a team of product and graphic designers and took the business into double digit growth. She worked very closely with the signature basketball athletes to improve their collections, particularly LeBron James, and his stylist Rachel Johnson, and designed LeBron's apparel line for 6 consecutive seasons.

From February 2013 to August 2014 Julia worked as Global Apparel Design Director for Nike Young Athletes, empowering a team of designers and transforming the business.

Julia resigned from Nike in August 2014 to establish her own design consultancy - Monarchy Design - continuing to work with Nike and other international brands.

She lives in Portland, OR with her husband and three children.
